Enjoy with Elephant Ride

 Elephant Ride - Bangkok
Start your 10-hour day trip to Khao Yai National Park, which includes an elephant trek, with an early morning hotel pickup in Bangkok. Relax during the approximate 108-mile (175-km) drive as your guide details the day’s itinerary and shares information about Thailand's most visited park — home to more than 153 animal and bird species, including wild elephants as well as endangered Asiatic black bears, tigers, leopards and barking deer. Learn about Khao Yai’s five vegetation zones and its monsoon forest, one of the few remaining in Asia. En route, your driver stops at a local fruit market where you’re introduced to seasonal fruits such as mango, rambutan and the stinky but tasty durian. After your fruit tasting, hop into a traditional ox cart for a ride via the rice fields on the way to a local farm. Here, you are welcome to assist with lunch preparations at a lovely Thai-style wooden home before enjoying a delicious Thai meal. Afterward, you’re driven to Khao Yai National Park where you’ll disembark the vehicle for a short hike to Haew Narok Waterfall. While the footpath is paved, good walking shoes are recommended for the forest walkway, which can get wet. Snap plenty of photos of the three-tiered cascade before the tour highlight: a 45-minute elephant ride through the Thailand jungle. With the help of a mahout (elephant driver), climb up into a seat on the elephant’s back to start your trek. Once you’re comfortable, you'll have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride on the elephant’s neck and have a few pictures taken — the perfect memento to treasure long after your tour ends with hotel drop-off in Bangkok.
